The Fender Stratocaster is Getting some Interesting Improvements

Taking at look at the new Player Plus Stratocaster

Interesting features:

  • The Fireball® Humbucking pick up in the bridge position. The Push-pull splits into a single coil

  • Locking tuning machines

  • Player Plus Noiseless Strat® pickups for extra quietness

  • A two-point tremolo bridge with 6 steel block saddles for superior intonation

  • The nut material in Synthetic Bone which seems like a good compromise to a Bone nut (need for lubrication)

  • Comes with 9-46 Fender nickel plated steel strings instead of the classic 9-42 which is a good compromise on a long scale guitar neck for ease of play.

  • The 12’ radius and maple C shape modern neck with jumbo medium frets for a Stratocaster classic feel and playability

My personal review

Playability:

This should be a plug and play guitar, however there is quite a bit of buzzing all over the neck. I couldn’t tell why that was at first sight, but a proper set up and some investigation will be required, at least on the model I had in hands.

Be aware this is a Mexican Strat and not a US Strat. I have not seen any mention of it on the few European sellers websites that I have looked at, which for me is a bit of a let down.
