MY JOURNEY AS AN ARTIST
How it all Started
Born in Brussels in 1974, Xavier Cevrin is a freelance guitarist, composer, songwriter, music producer and guitar teacher. Like many other future musicians of his generation, Xavier fell in admiration for the guitar when he was eleven after hearing Eddy Van Halen’s fiery guitar solo in the song “Beat It” by Michael Jackson.
At age seventeen, after an encouraging debut on the local scene with the Rock Band “Doubts” (featuring drummer Simon LeSaint, son of world renown Blues Jazz singer Dani Klein of Vaya con Dios), Xavier decided to move to Los Angeles (summer of 1991) with a dream of becoming a professional musician, as well as to further his musical education. He graduated programs at the Musician's Institute and UCLA Extension in Songwriting, Music Production, Music Business and Music Performance in Contemporary Guitar.
While getting on-hand training in the studios of Hollywood with producer and friend Keith Barrows, Xavier had the opportunity to sit in sessions with amazing musicians such as Bob Daisley, Surf Guitar Legend Jerry Cole, or drummer Miles Robinson.
The Quest
"Takin it Back" was recorded in 1993 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood with appearance from Gregg Bissonette on drums and his brother Matt Bissonette on bass guitar. The 4 songs EP was composed in collaboration with Belgian guitarist Yves Stilmant and Lisa J, whom he met during a studio session while she was laying down background vocals for a band.

Tributes
Over the years, Xavier has been involved in various tribute bands featuring the music of greats like Aretha Franklin, Pink Floyd, or Supertramp.
Cannonball (A Tribute to Supertramp) was briefly joined by singer Richard Sanderson known of his performance on “Dreams (are my reality)” and "Your Eyes”, written by Vladimir Cosma and Cook Da Books for the soundtrack of the movie "La Boum” starring french actress Sophie Marceau.
Tritense, a trio formed with drummer Sylvio Iascio and Keyboardist Jean-Philippe Rolot performed a series of shows giving tribute to guitar legends of the 60’s and 70’s.
The Roots
In early 2022 an enthusiastic new project called "Westend Groove" sees the light after reuniting with fellow musician and childhood friend Chris Dreiser. A first production “Himalaya Peanuts” was released in October of that year.
More collaborations took place over the years with hit record producer and musician Michel Bellens, founder of mythic Belgian Label GUN RECORDS (known for his work with SYNDICATE OF LAW), which led to material being licensed by the majors Blanco y Negro and Airplay Record (a division of Universal), with credits as a producer, arranger, session guitarist and lyricist/composer.
Production
In 2022, he founded the Lyrics Company with Chris Dreiser following a promising production for Los Angeles-based American/Lebanese singer Malek Hanna. Malek's first single "Beautiful Stranger" was released in 2020, and an upcoming EP is currently in preparation.
Solo Album
Xavier's instrumental EP "Transatlantic" came out in 2022 featuring Gregg Bisonette on drums, Vincent Bruyninckx on piano, Titanika's own Luis Guillermo Ramirez on bass guitar, and Mauricio Serna on bass and mixing. Over time, more guests were brought in and the sessions became more diverse and exciting. Overall the album "Transatlantic" is one that Xavier feels very proud of, and it truly does honor the great rock bands from the psychedelic era and showcases a wide range of early influences such as Scott Henderson, Jimi Hendrix, Quincy Jones, Frank Zappa, Iron Maiden, Toto, Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, or Toots Thielemans.
